Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, WordPress, Kompozer, Blogger.com
You choose:
We spend two days together in which we work together on website design, ideally using Dreamweaver. This can take place at your premises in Exeter, Honiton, East Devon area or here in Exmouth.
Day One - we can discuss your web ideas, and I can train you in the basic use of CSS and HTML. We can work on your design from Day One.
Day Two - we will begin to work on your personal style sheet and web pages by adding design layout and formatting, textual content, images, links, and other enhancements such as basic javascript if required. By the end of the second day you should have a good working website requiring just small additions before putting it live on the world wide web. You can either take this away and finish the content off on your own or I will finish it for you.
2 days one-to-one training - £400
Trainer to finish the website - £20 per hour
One-to-one training thereafter - £35 per hour
We meet to discuss your requirements, whereupon you can give me any images and text you want to use. We will set a realistic timescale for the work and I will create a mock-up of one page for you to inspect and approve. No fees due until design is approved. Once approved I will create other pages and show you a live version - hopefully by the end of the first day, depending on initial requirements. If required I can then show you how to edit and manage your own pages so any changes you want to make can be done by you.
As a general guildeline, a 5 page website using images and text will take approximately one day to create, possibly another half day to refine - approximately £200. If you want to use videos, e-commerce, or different/more pages using different designs then the time could double or triple. Upon our initial discussion I will be able to give you an idea of the timescale.
Initial meetup - Gratis
Individual work by trainer - £25 per hour
Any one-to-one training thereafter - £35 per hour
Dreamweaver, Kompozer
If you want to be able to edit an existing website yourself, either one already created or one designed and created by P.A.B you should be able to easily make minor changes to it using Dreamweaver or another cheap or free web design package such as Kompozer.
I can assist in teaching you the skills you will need to do this.
WordPress as a CMS
You may already have a WordPress site that you need to learn how to add content to. WordPress is not just a blog, it can be adapted to act as a CMS (Content Management System) and it does make adding content relatively straightforward.
We can either work together to create the site in WordPress or I can do the main structure and you can then continue to manage the site.
Improving or finishing an existing website
If neither of the above two options quite fills your requirements then just let me know what you want or need and I'm sure I'll be able to help. Maybe you just need one day to learn the finer details of web site design, or you need help to finish off your website.
Blogger.com
Blogger.com is just one of many blogging sites that you can use to set up a blog for yourself, and is a very easy and adaptable program to use. You may want to create a blog and incorporate it within your existing website using iframes or point your domain directly at your blog pages.
